# Set Up Manual Payment Method in Shopify POS

> To mark POSBridge payments as paid in Shopify, you need to create a manual payment method once.

<Note>
  POSBridge is a **POS Smart Grid Extension** — not an embedded payment provider in Shopify Checkout. After the card payment on the SumUp terminal, you complete the order manually in Shopify POS using a custom payment method. You only need to create this once.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Shopify admin">
    Sign in to your Shopify admin.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sales channels → Point of Sale">
    Go to **Sales channels → Point of Sale**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Customize in-store / Edit POS app">
    Click **Customize in-store** or **Edit POS app**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Checkout">
    In the editor, open **Checkout**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add custom payment type">
    Click **Add custom payment type**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter a name">
    Enter a clear name, e.g. **SumUp** or **Card payment**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Add and save. The payment type is then available at Shopify POS checkout.
  </Step>

<Tip>
  **Tip:** If you have multiple terminals or locations, one manual payment method is enough for all — e.g. simply *SumUp*. You do not need to repeat this per terminal or location.

  **Note:** This payment method is only used for marking the order in Shopify. The actual card payment runs completely and securely through the SumUp terminal.
