# General FAQ

> The most common questions about POSBridge, SumUp and Shopify POS.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Which SumUp devices are supported?">
    POSBridge supports only the SumUp Solo and SumUp Solo Printer. On the device: swipe down → **Connections** → **Cloud API** (sometimes labelled **API**). There is no Settings → Advanced → API Mode path. SumUp Air, 3G, Lite and other older models are not compatible.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I connect SumUp to POSBridge?">
    POSBridge → **Settings** → **Connect with SumUp** → log in with your SumUp account → **Allow**. No API key and no merchant code. If SumUp asks twice: click **Allow** again — it is the same OAuth connection, not a second key.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need a Shopify POS Pro plan?">
    No. POSBridge works with any Shopify POS plan — including the free POS Lite version.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is customer data stored?">
    No. POSBridge stores only transaction data (amount, status, IDs). No card numbers, no personal customer data. Fully GDPR compliant.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I use multiple terminals?">
    Yes. How many terminals and locations you can use depends on your plan — the numbers live in the app, not as a fixed claim here. Current limits: POSBridge → **Plans & Pricing**. You can assign each iPad to a terminal (Terminals → **Assign**).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens if WiFi is interrupted?">
    Solo and iPad need internet — **not the same Wi-Fi**. Mobile data on the Solo is enough. If the connection drops during a payment, it is marked **EXPIRED** after the timeout. The terminal shows an error; you can send again afterwards. Whether the card was charged is visible in the SumUp app under Transactions.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I charge partial amounts?">
    Yes. In the POSBridge tile choose **Partial amount**, enter the amount and tap **Send payment**. Then in Shopify record only that amount on the custom payment type.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What is Quick Mode?">
    Quick Mode sends the payment to the terminal after a countdown (0–10 sec) — without tapping **Send payment**. To cancel: tap **Cancel** on the countdown banner, not the timer.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do refunds work?">
    Simply create the return or refund as usual in Shopify POS or the Shopify admin — POSBridge automatically detects it and pays the amount back to the customer's SumUp card. Full and partial refunds are supported. If the SumUp balance is temporarily insufficient, POSBridge automatically retries the refund for up to 7 days — the status is visible on the order in POS and in the admin under Refunds.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How long does my data stay after cancellation?">
    Your data is retained for 30 days after uninstallation. Then automatic deletion in compliance with GDPR.
  </Accordion>
